Description:
Cam is an extremely sweet and loving little guy. He is a bit timid with strangers, but warms up quickly if you give him lots of pets or treats. He loves to play and loves to cuddle. His favorite games are tug and chase. He also enjoys chewing on toys and is good about only chewing on things he is given. Cam is food motivated, but will take his time in eating his meals. He is crate trained and working on potty training. Cam hasn’t had an accident since the first week we got him, and knows to go sit by the door when he has to go potty. Cam is learning sit and down right now. Once he masters those he will get to learn more commands! He is already doing a great job with his commands when treats are involved. Cam loves to go for walks and explore. Snow is especially exciting, and he thinks it’s really fun to roll around in and eat it. Cam hasn't got to play with other dogs yet, but will get to as soon as he gets his second set of vaccinations on 2/20. He is a bit scared when he sees other dogs but seems curious about them, so we believe he will enjoy playing with other dogs once he has a bit more socialization! Cam is beginning to teethe so having lots of fun toys to chew on will help ease his pain, and keep him occupied. He loves to be picked up and held. Cam does have a bit of separation anxiety. He cries when he is put in his crate or left alone, but he is already improving, and will quiet down after a few minutes, and will lay down to sleep. Cam would definitely prefer to sleep with his foster mom every night if he could have his way. He loves to be cuddled, hugged, and kissed. Lots of socialization and structured training will help him become confident and well adjusted. Cam is looking for a loving forever home where he can grow up into an affectionate, happy family dog.
Applicants that are willing to enroll their puppy in obedience classes will receive preference.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.
