Description:

Greta is a curious, outgoing, and playful puppy. She came to LDDR as an owner surrender after being previously rescued from an abusive home. She currently lives with her foster family of 3 and is settling in very nicely, and learning to be a good little puppy. Greta is crate trained and potty trained, although continuous training will be needed to be successful. She will wait by the door during the day or bark at night to alert us when she has to go out.

She is a quick learner and knows a few commands including sit, down, stay, come, and shh. She will do anything for treat or a toy!  Her favorite activities are playing and cuddling. Her favorite games to play are fetch and tug of war. She also loves playing chase, but we try to reserve that for her playtime with other dogs. Her favorite toys are ones that squeak and stuffed animals… preferably stuffed animals that squeak. She grew up as an only puppy without a mom or siblings to teach her how to play properly, but she is quickly learning the right way to play and behave with humans and dogs. She is extremely friendly and eager to meet all people and dogs. Greta wants to say hi to everyone and is very outgoing. She would especially love a dog sibling or at least have frequent play time and socialization with other dogs that she can run around and play with. After a long play session she enjoys cuddling up on the couch or her favorite chair with her humans.

Greta came to us a bit mouthy, but is quickly improving and learning to not use teeth with people. She went from biting everything in sight to be being very cautious and conscientious of how and when she uses her mouth.  Bones and chew toys are especially useful since she is teething. She loves kids but can get a little too rambunctious and playful, and sometimes needs a break to calm down.  She would do best with a family who is firm and consistent with discipline. She is very smart and will test her boundaries if she knows she can get away with it. Greta has plenty of puppy energy but settles down nicely to chew on a bone or lounge on the couch after exciting activities.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs/cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's/cat’s shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog/cat is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs and cats MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs and cats back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog or cat.

The  petfinder.com  system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs and cats. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
