Description:
Thanks for your interest in Echo! She is a beautiful dog that grabs everyone's attention instantly. She's very sweet and loving. She likes to give kisses and receive lots of attention. She truly enjoys being with her people. She's very inquisitive and wants to know what is happening all the time. Echo is very intelligent and picks up on things quickly. Although she's starting to learn things in our home, continued obedience classes will be the key to her success! Without training, I fear she will make her own rules in the house. Therefore, she will need a patient and consistent owner. She's an active dog who has a relatively high level of energy. Therefore, she will need an owner who can be active with her daily. You could include her in walking, jogging, hiking, swimming, or other activities. In fact, she would be great at agility classes. She loves chasing a tennis ball in the back yard and playing with squeaky toys, but that alone doesn't wear her out. I know she would love it if you had another dog her size that she could play with! Due to her herding instinct, she wants to chase and run after anything that moves (bunnies, squirrels, birds). Therefore, she will require a completely fenced yard (at least 6 ft high) so she doesn't escape. Her need to chase would make it dangerous for her to be in an unfenced yard. She should ideally go to a family with children aged 10 and older. She has a habit of jumping when excited and would knock over small children. She also has a habit of mouthing your hands when she gets excited. She doesn't bite, but it could scare younger children. I'm working on both of these with her, but it will take time. Echo is crate trained and housetrained. She gets along with my small Pekingese and loves my children (ages 11-14). I don't own cats, so I'm not sure how she would interract with them. She is a great dog looking for her forever home. Is that with you? I promise that she will give you unconditional love in return.
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first.
