Description:
Meet Tate. It is said his parents are approximately 100 lbs and registered. He will be a large dog when fully grown. Tate has spent a lot of time in the crate during his young life and as an only dog. On his foster's farm he has met several dogs and made good friends with one young male. Together they LOVE to run and play in the yard, roll around the grass, and play in the kiddie pool! He is only crated for meals as is all the foster dogs. Tate declines to get on furniture and sleeps on a dog bed at night.
Tate is a nice young boy (I'd call him adorable). He grew up with a toddler and was good with him. Tate is a typical shepherd, he will need a strong, confident leader. Applicants should have shepherd or large dog experience. Tate would benefit from another well adjusted dog to play with and learn from like any pup. A large yard to play in and active humans are a must for him at this point in his life. Older children would be best as he may knock small children down by mistake. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption.
