Description:
Hi my name is Leroy! I am about 4 years old and I weigh 32 pounds. I am neutered, house trained, and crate trained. In fact I love my crate it makes me feel safe. When I first came to my foster home I was so very scared of people I hid in the closet. Then I decided to hide in my crate. But you know what the crazy thing is my foster family has other dogs in the house and I just love other dogs. So I started playing with them and I started playing with toys and it was so much fun. But I would only play with other dogs and toys when my foster parents were not in the room.  If they would come in and catch me playing, I would go hide in my crate. I just didn't trust them you see. But now a couple weeks in I think they're kind of nice people. I'm still a little afraid of them but I let them pet me now I even come up and ask for pets because they give such good pets. I've even jumped up on their bed when I want pets especially bad. They've taken me for walks and they've taken me to the dog park which is the best place ever and now I can even play with the other dogs in front of them. I know this place is just temporary so I'm looking for a home where somebody can understand that I'm a little bit shy around people but when I come out of my shell I'm the most gentle loving guy you could ever meet. Oh by the way I'm a beagle so a fenced yard would probably be best for me because I love to follow my nose. There's just so many smells to smell you see. Sometimes I get so excited I just run up and down throughout the house because playing is so much fun. Also if I do something wrong I'm really easily correctable. My foster parents only have to tell me once and then I don't do anything I'm not supposed to do like steal the socks from the laundry. I'm not supposed to do that. Anyway I'm just looking for a family to love me and help me come out of my shell. I have lots of love and kisses to give. Do I sound like the right guy for you? If so please fill out an application I would love to come home with you.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
