Description:
Hello my name is Pearl. I am approximately 1 year old. I weigh about 35-40 lbs. I love people and especially children. I am full of energy and love. I was severely neglected and abused at my first home but I don't hold that against people though. I still love with all my heart. I love giving hugs, kisses, and cuddling. I love riding in cars. I want to be where the people are. I truly love children. My foster mom has 2 year old twins and I know to be very gentle with them. I am learning how to live inside a home so I am still working on potty training. My foster mom has taught me to sit, come, stay, lay down, and go to bed. I don't chew stuff I am not supposed to chew on. I am still learning that it is OK to play with toys. I haven't had toys before. I love pigs ears, and chew treats. Mama says I am very food motivated. I know not to grab food from the twins and to be very gentle when people hand me food... but mama says I need to work on sharing my food with other dogs. Sometimes I don't want to share so I argue with my foster brother. I am looking for a forever home. I really want one with children because I love to play with children. I have a lot of energy and I want someone who is going to be active and play with me. I am spayed, wormed, Heartworm negative, have the monthly flea med's, am microchipped and I am up to date on my shots. Mama says I am a good girl and anyone would be lucky to have me.
UPDATE: They know the basic commands, sit, stay, come, lay down. They also are trained to stay on my property even though it is not fenced in. Both are great with my kids! Pearl discovered if she was too hyper near my 2 yr old twins she would bump them and knock them over so she picked up on that really fast so now when she approaches them she leans towards them so she doesn't knock them over! They both can eat treats right from the babies hands they take them so gently without grabbing.
All they need now is a forever home! They are both housebroken now. They will go to the door when they need to go out but they don't make a sound just wait at the door. So if no one is paying attention and they had to pee bad Pearls pee'd in front of the door a time or two .. but I don't blame her if she had to go and no one opened the door! Magnum has not had any accidents in the house since like week one or two. They have been with me since August/September. Magnum was terrified of ALL men and a lot of people in the beginning. I mean terrified and he was nothing but skin and bones. For the first few weeks he really only trusted myself and my teenage daughter. By about the second week he was starting to warm up to my 18 yr old son and by about 3-4 weeks he was giving my boyfriend kisses.
Pearl is just a big ball of furry love! Magnum too...they just love fully it is truly amazing to know all they have gone through yet they are so full of happiness and love!
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
