Description:
Geordi has settled in nicely in his foster home. He is very friendly and loves attention. He is submissive to the alpha dog of the house, but still tries to play with him. He isn't a fan of his crate yet, but he's been very good at night sleeping beside his foster's bed, on a comfy blanket. Geordi sleeps through the night and is very happy to get up in the morning...basically, he's recharged and ready to go! He eats well, although he didn't seem to know what canned food was. He liked it once he dared to try it. He knows "sit" but has been too excited so far to learn "stay" and other commands that require little movement. Once he settles down a bit more he'll probably catch on well. When he's excited and wants his foster to pay attention to him, he'll nip at her fingers as she walks through the house, but it's very gentle and playful. Geordi did mark a few corners when he first came in the home, but seems to be done with that. He has had one #2 accident in the house, but it is unknown yet whether it is going to be an issue or not. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption.
