Description:

Pappy is an adorable senior Pom that looks like a stuffed animal.  Pappy’s whole world was turned upside down when he ended up at a local shelter, turned in as a stray.  Initially bewildered and frightened, Pappy has adjusted wonderfully in his foster home and is a delightful ol’ gent that loves car rides, being carried, going outside, and eating.  Despite his age, he is a spunky little guy who does a happy dance when it’s dinner time.  Pappy has a hiliarious habit of paddling air when he is carried around outside on windy days.  Pappy has free roam of the foster home, but only stays in one spot—on his bed in the dining room.  While he may walk around the rest of the house briefly to see what’s going on, he always returns to his pillow to snooze the hours away, waiting on the next adventure.  Pappy rarely barks or makes any noise other than occasional whining to go out.  He is a little shy in new situations.  Pappy’s soft fluffy coat needs brushing frequently and he will require professional grooming about every 8 weeks or so.  Pappy has had a couple potty accidents in the home, but overall does very well.  He usually gets up once during the night to go outside and potty.  Pappy lives with several dogs and learned quickly to go outside to potty along with the other dogs.  Pappy has few teeth and those that are left require extraction.  He is currently on an antibiotic regimen to address an infection due to his bad teeth.  He is scheduled for dental surgery in late March.  He eats only very small pieces of soft food or ground food.  Pappy also has a cataract in one eye, however, appears to see things very well.   Because of his age and size, Pappy’s ideal home is one with all adults and a quiet, rather routine environment.  For additional information or to meet Pappy contact his foster mother at j-jarrett@att.net.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
