Description:
Sweet Carmen brings joy to everyone who meets her. She was one of two pregnant dogs abandoned by her previous owner in Arenac County, MI, and gave birth to seven puppies in the animal control shelter. Fortunately, her luck turned around when a Last Day Dog Rescue foster took her and the puppies in (the other pregnant mom was also saved by LDDR). Even though she is only a puppy herself, she was an excellent mom to her little ones--always gentle and caring. Now that her mom duties are done, she would like to find a good furever home where she can play with and love on her family. Everyone who has met her has remarked on how sweet and loving she is toward humans. She gets along with other dogs, but has chases cats she meets. She still has a few puppy tendencies (we are working on chewing behavior and is making good progress), so a basic puppy training class may do her a lot of good. A fenced-in yard would be ideal for her. Carmen would make a great family dog or companion to a single person. We believe she is a Brittany Spaniel mixed with some pointer, bulldog, and even beagle. She is pure mutt and PURE LOVE.

*Carmen is the mom to the Pj Litter

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
