Description:
Update 1/1/2014 -- Lolli-pup has terminal cancer and will remain in hospice care with her foster mom. There is little we can do for Lolli-pup because the tumor is in her lung and continually growing plus she is HW+. Treatment of either is ill-advised. She is a welcome member of her foster home and will be loved and cared for until her times comes to cross the Rainbow Bridge.
As you might imagine, medical bills for dogs such as Lolli-pup are very high. You can help by making a small donation to our rescue in the name of one of our sick dogs. In addition to monetary donations, you can help out by shopping through the iGive program where a percent of every purchased can be donated to our rescue. Meet Lolli-pup. This little sweet-pea was on the urgent list in a rural Ohio shelter and was slated for euthanasia. LDDR couldn't let that happen and brought this sweet senior into care. This poor baby is dealing with a skin issue that has left her with bald patches all over her body and itchy. She is currently on an antibiotic regimen to address this and some ear issues, and receives a medicated bath once a week. Lolli-pup is UTD on her shots, microchipped, and will be spayed as soon as she is medically stable. She has adjusted well to her foster home and is so happy to have a warm bed and good food. She looks a little rough right now, but once her beautiful black coat fills in she will look very pretty.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.
