Description:
Laverne was rescued from a high kill shelter. While at the shelter she was so scared she would just sit in the corner and shake. She was posted as Rescue only because of her fear. Laverne is a GREAT girl out of the shelter. Laverne is good with her bonded friend who we believe she came in with named Shirley and has been good with all other dogs. Laverne has been bred also so she has had puppies before and then was abandoned at the shelter. Laverne is still a little shy and timid but once she gets confidence in you she is full of kisses, face licks, and becomes a lap dog. She is a submissive/ shy girl who is crate trained very quiet in the crate, house trained, and takes treats gently,  Laverne loves to play with other dogs but mostly wants the attention of her human owner and will come back several times to get petted. She has been in our home with children and has done fine just wants attention.  Laverne would LOVE to SNUGGLE up with YOU on your COUCH.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
