Description:
Hi I’m Keeley.  I’m a 2 year old female small yellow lab mix.  I was a mother to 13 pups right. Yup, that’s right, 13!  I did a great job being a mom and all of my puppies have found their forever homes. Now it is my turn! I get along with my foster parents’ 3 year old Brittany Spaniel Mix very well.  She likes to play and I am finally getting my energy back after having those pups. I love my walks and trips to the dog park. I even have a good friend at the dog park and she loves to play. I ride very nicely in the car.  I prefer to lie down to sleep in the car but this is only when my foster-sister will let me.

My foster parents have worked with me to stay off the furniture and bed. I know my basic commands and I come when called. I have learned to eat out of my bowl and leave my foster-sister’s alone. I listen well and will stay off the furniture if you tell me too but I would LOVE a family that wants to snuggle in bed. I like to sleep with my head or paw on you and I will keep you nice and warm. I do have a bit of separation anxiety and I will whine when you leave but I have not been destructive. Because of my pups, my foster parents allowed me to eat and drink whenever I wanted. I had a few accidents in the house, but my foster parents think this was due to being pregnant or nursing. The accidents typically occured during the night. However, I have had fewer and fewer accidents the longer I have been with my foster parents.  In addition to regaining my energy after being spayed, I have regained control over my bladder and I haven’t had an accident in the house in weeks!  My foster mom is so happy. She suspected that it was the pregnancy that was affecting me, because I really look to please and do what is expected of me.

I would love a family that has a fenced in yard where I can watch the squirrels. I love to play at the park and would love a family who likes to take walks and cuddle. My foster mom has noticed that I like to sniff and thinks that I would enjoy a nose-work class.

I have a lot of snuggles to give.  I am learning to sleep in my crate, but I love my morning cuddles in bed with my foster-mom and dog foster sister.  I’ve discovered some new friends at the dog park. I met a new dog called Monkey yesterday. Monkey is also a rescue dog and we bonded immediately. We played, and ran in circles, and wrestled for over an hour. My foster mom has never seen me so happy, except when I get to crawl into bed for snuggles.

If you are interested in meeting me, my foster mom is willing to have you to her house, just put in an application and she will contact us.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
