Description:

Meet sweet Lily.  Lily is a purebred Brussels Griffon of 7 years.  She has a sad story to tell of being dropped off at a vet’s office to be euthanized because she had potty accidents in the home. The former owner was afraid for Lily’s safety as well as her own because the boyfriend made threats of harm to both of them because of Lily's accidents. Vet staff talked with the owner who then surrendered Lily to them.  Lily was left at the vet with a new bag of food, a thick comfy blanket, soft pillow, a big stuffed toy, her studded pink collar and pink leash. It didn’t take long for LDDR to hear of Lily’s plight and brought her into care. In her foster home, Lily has been a sweet heart!  She goes out to potty on a regular schedule with the other dogs and is doing very well with that.  We don’t know how long the former owner had Lily or what her habits have been, but Lily is crated trained and runs to her crate when you have treats in your hand.  She sleeps in her crate at night.

Lily has a happy-go-lucky disposition true to her breed.  She is fine with the other dogs in the home, and has even initiated play with some of them.  She likes to sleep on the couch or in a soft bed. Lily barks when the other dogs bark; she has a very quiet bark that is hardly noticeable.  Because of her ‘smoosh’ face, she also quietly snores.  Her facial expressions are adorable.  Lily is spayed, UTD on shots and micro chipped.  Lily has luxated patellas—her knee caps become dislocated.  This condition is very common in small breed dogs like Lily.  It does not seem to cause Lily any problems; however, should it worsen over time, she may require surgery to correct the condition.  Lily is very small and would do best in a home with all adults or respectful older children.  This sweet pea won’t last long.  Her adorable facial expression will steal your heart.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
