Lokie is a young girl, right around 1 year old and 45 to 50 pounds. She had been a stray dog for a long time and her friend was hit and killed on the road. Some nice person was feeding her at least so she wasnt starving until she got rescues. She is very sweet, and submissive toward people. Good with other dogs, and seems to also be fine with cats, although we havent really tested her with cats. Her first meeting one in passing she ducked away when the cat hissed. Shes playful, and gets excited like all puppies but is not a very active dog in general. She rarely barks. Lokie loves belly rubs! She really hasnt been taught too many things yet, like how to walk on a leash without pulling too much, but she responds so quickly it will be very easy to teach her all kinds of things. She will be arriving to LDDR on July 27th. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption.
