Lexie was taken away from her owner by Animal Control for neglect. She was terribly thin and not being fed and she was also left outside in this cold weather. Her nails were badly overgrown and she has a few sores on her legs from inadequete housing outside. Despite all of that, she is a VERY friendly girl with a warm personality. She is SUPER SWEET and VERY gentle but has a sad soul. Who could blame this poor girl?!

Lexie doesn't have a mean bone in her body and has really come out of her shell. She used to be shy of touches but now will gladly come to you for some lovin! She will even give you a kiss! She will politely greet people now when it used to take her a bit to warm up. She doesn't get on furniture unless invited and does great for car rides and knows how to "sit" and "lay down" and comes when you call her name. She doesn't jump up on you and is a mellow girl that just wants to be loved and lay by your feet. She didn't know what a doggie bed was, but is slowly starting to understand life in a home and how it really should be. She is also housetrained and has not had one accident.

Lexie is good with other dogs and is very submissive with them as she lived with two other dogs prior. She likes to just mosey around the yard and will occasionally play with the other dogs in her foster home. She will also grab a toy to play with every now and then and chase after a ball. She is more on the laid back side and likes to just be where you are. She has no food aggression and takes treats very gently which is surprising since she was starved before. She still needs to put on some weight, she is still very thin. She weighed 42lbs but is now up to 49lbs and the vet estimates she should be at around 60lbs. She would do best in a home with older kids as young rambunctious kids might scare her. She loves the 10 year old boy in her foster home!

It really is hard not to fall in love with her and want to just shower her with love! She is a great girl all the way around and is a very easy dog to have around! She is up-to-date on her vaccinations, spayed and micro-chipped. It's amazing how great dogs are even when humans can be so cruel to them. Won't you be the one to show this sweet girl that life can be great and that we all aren't bad??? She will be forever grateful!
