Description:

Hi, I'm Grasshopper... no not the bug... I'm a Corgi, long hair, I am about 7 1/2 years old I think. I have moved from one shelter to the another, more than a year ago some folks got me from an adoption event, but they kept me outside all the time, through the rain, snow, sleet, and heat... you'd think they thought I delivered the mail, all I wanted was to be cared for, brushed and played with.

My humans called a Dog Trainer/Behaviorist to show me how to stay inside of an underground fence, they couldn't understand why I wanted out of my yard.... there were no trees and no shade for me... I was so hot,  so when my humans decided to give me away.... they called the nice lady who I now live with... she is my foster mom, yep... the trainer.... and now I am learning how to enjoy being inside on hot days, I really do like being outside, laying under shade trees, playing with the other dogs that live there in the fenced yard.

Learning how to get up steps is a challenge for me, never really had to learn that being kept outside and all.  I like being in my crate, it's my safe place... snuggling up with my blanket and bone... this is the life. I think I have some hearing loss but that doesn't change what a great dog I am! I really want a family of my own that will love me the way I can love them, I am a good boy, I like to go for short walks and will follow you around the yard, helping you.... I'm a good helper! Will you please call Last Day Dog Rescue... and give me a fur ever home?

Update from Grasshopper's foster: Grasshopper is the best dog I have ever had in my home... including MY DOGS! lol... he is truly a wonderful little fella and has says good morning and good night... and thanks you for letting him come in the house. This is the only time he really barks.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home.
