Description:
THIS IS WHAT THE SHELTER WHO HAD SABLE SAID ABOUT HER: Sable was found wandering the streets of Union City TN, painfully thin, alone, hungry and confused. She was finally picked up by animal control which, at first, didn't seem so bad. After all, she was fed the first real meal she ever had, and everyone seemed to love her. Oh the hugs and kisses she gave and got, and the fun she had chasing a ball in the yard. But her favorite game was jumping up to catch the water from the hose in her mouth. Everyone smiles and laughs when Sable's around--she is pure delight, loving everyone and everything around her. "You'll go home soon too, Sable" they whispered in her ear "just wait a little longer." And so she did. Never barking, never causing any trouble. Waiting as patiently as she could by the kennel door. But no one came. Not because Sable isn't sweet, loving, playful & beautifully well-behaved. She's all that and more! Her only problem is this: she's out-of-time. But we can save her life IF we raise $225 for her vetting and 2 weeks boarding.
Sable wants nothing more than to be with you: walking, running, playing, snuggling. She gently tucks her warm, soft face in the crook of your arm or rests her muzzle on your hand. How she'd love to curl up on your feet and keep them warm! This precious girl offers unconditional love to all she meets, expressing the joyful energy of puppyhood.
Sable has finally arrived at Last Day Dog Rescue!!! She is approx 10 months old, but still quite thin (only 46 pounds) which makes her look tall and gangly. I introduced her to a male rott/shepherd mix today and initially she was very excited, so we walked around for a few minutes and then went back for the introduction. Sable did very well when introduced properly and did not have any negative reaction to my male dog at all. Sable does know how to sit and will walk alright on a leash if you remind her to heal. She is a very loving pup and will do nicely with a family. She does need some more weight, and we are working on that now!! With a little training, Sable would be anyone's dream dog!! Obviously she is very food oriented and will learn commands quickly. It did not take Sable long to relax and enjoy my company and just being out of the kennel where she is currently staying as we do not have enough foster homes. Please consider meeting Sable and adding her to your family!! Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Sable-PENDING (click to see larger version):
