Description:
I am pleased to be the foster for Lovey. She is an easy dog. She is a quiet and pleasant.  Lovey made herself right at home. My black lab Magnus adores her. They follow each other around all day. She runs hard and plays hard. There are 4 cats in our house. Lovey takes little interest in the cats.  She is friendly with other dogs. She is spirited and smart. She listens. She is attentive. She comes when called. Sits on command.  Lovey does not wander off or run off.  She stays close. She likes people. Offers pleasant greetings throughout the day. She is a neat dog and we are fond of her. She would be great addition to any home!

As you can see Lovey has her own unique look with one eye different than the other. The Veterinarian believes this was a birth defect and that she has limited or no site in that eye. Her eye does not need any medical treatment at this time and does not seem to affect her at all.

Please consider Lovey as you seek out your new furry friend!

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Momma Lovey has seen all her pups adopted and is eagerly awaiting her own forever home. In addition, she has been spayed and is putting on weight now that she is not nursing nine babies. She is beautiful at 60 pounds but could stand to gain about 10 more. She loves going for walks on our two-acres and is always on "point" hunting for the next small furry or hoppy thing she can catch. Based on her hunting desire and the fact that she has "taken care of" field mice, moles etc. we think it would be best if she was not in a home with Cats/kittens. More than anything, she really needs a fenced in yard to run and play in. She is a high energy puppy that loves to play and does not know that she is a big girl so we recommend she go into a family with older children at least school aged. Momma Lovey is sweet as could be and is looking to add a little sugar to someone's life. Please consider her when choosing your furever friend!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting.
