Update: Emma is doing wonderful, she nows sit, paw, and lay down. Emma loves the water,  does not do well with car rides as she gets car sick, so she will need drammaine for long care rides. she is very sweet and loves to give kisses once she warms up. She is a typical shepherd and does not greet new people with a happy tail wag, she barks and growls till she realizes they are okay then she will relax.

Emma is NOT GOOD WITH CATS! she is very high energy and plays too rough for small dogs. she will need plenty of exercise to keep her happy and out of trouble.

Emma is doing well with meeting new people, she is still young and needs work, but if you are looking for a german shepherd who is house trained and will need less work than a puppy then Emma is your girl. she is young, beautiful, and playful, she has many years to give you. Emma is crated when we are not at home for long periods of time but, does great when we are at home with her.

Emma is a purbred German, German Shepherd, and is still young and needs an experienced german shepherd handler. She will need some training classes, this is a requirement for her adopters. Emma can be very scared when first meeting people as she has not had much socialization, she will growl, bark and move away, and pace, she has been doing better everytime gets to meet more and more people. Emma has a high prey drive and does not do well with cats or small dogs. Kids should not be a problem if they are respectful of dogs and are older, like 9 yrs or older as she did live with a 9 yr old and did very well with him, but she will need supervision till she warms up. She has never bit anyone, she is just a bit scared. Emma does love to play with toys and her german shepherd brother. she does not do so well with the smaller dogs. Emma has some mild seperation anxiety and needs to be crated when left alone, but Emma is going to be a wonderful dog with the right home and handler.  If interested in adopting Emma,  please put in and application. If you have any questions about her please send all inquiries to kgoins@frontier.net

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
