Description:

Hello, I am Panda (aka Callie). I was adopted at 8 weeks old, and returned at 4 months. My previous owner named me Callie, and that is a name that I understand so hence the two different names. I am 9 months old, and my birthday is 12/15/11. I am spayed, UTD, and even microchipped! Since I may be a mix of australian shepherd and border collie, I have a  slight prey drive and it would not be a good idea for a home with small furry animals. I am a little obsessed about them, and do not listen very well when they are around. I know how to sit, stay, and am in dog school to freshen up my listening and eye contact skills. I am a fantastic walker when I have my "no pull harness" on and my foster mother even rides her bike and I run alongside her like a champ. It would be best if I went into a home with people who are active exercisers and like to be outside because I will be at my best with exercise. I will  be a fantastic pet as I have enormous amout of potential, I just need someone to spend time with me and show me the way. I spent two weeks in a doggy day care, so I am socialized around other dogs. I am excellent at dog parks, dog school, meeting new dogs, and do not have any fence aggressivesness, but I do not like when other dogs come around my crate when I am eating. A home with no dogs, or a home with a submissive dog may be better for me, as it takes me a little while to warm up to new dogs in my foster home when they come in. On a side note: Since being introduced to the kiddie pool in my foster home, I cannot get enough of the water. I will even run through the sprinkler or hose if you let me. I think I may be a good swimmer as well, but i have yet to experience that.  I also enjoy fetching balls and sticks and will pile up all your sticks for you if you let me. If you have any questions about me, please call my foster mother Alana at (313) 766-4714.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.
