I get along with other dogs, and kids, love kids, and I'm really smart. If you can't tell from above, I will do just about anything for a treat so training should be a snap.
I really do love food, so if you have something you don't want me to get you need to put it away.  I just can't help myself, it smells so good. I am the most calm dog you will ever see, I would even do well with an older person. I would love to play with a toy that you throw but I will also gladly just sit next to you on the couch, if you would just let me lay my head on your lap I would be ever so grateful. Oh and if you happen to have a blanket and hold it open for me, I will happily jump under the covers with your for a nap- I love naps.

This dog is amazing, wonderful, gentle, smart, calm and loving.  And he's gorgeous, everyone says so. He is good with kids, cats, and dogs. That dosen't mean if a cat runs he won't chase it, he is a coon mix after all. He is calm indoors, once he is inside, he just he just wants to lay on the couch with his people but will fetch toys if you throw them. Gulliver is a cuddler,  Will let you lay on him and if you open the blanket for him he will crawl inside. He s leeps through the entire night.  he's just so calm, I've never had an issue with him.  Has not knocked over any of my nieces or jumped on them, he just wants to love on them. He is very smart, he learned sit in one day and the sitting for his food as well.

I would prefer him have a fenced in yard because he's a hound and will take off after something.  I just don't trust him around open doors yet.  He really is an awesome dog and I want him to have a great life, he deserves it, he's just about perfect.

He does have some negative points, but this don't make him a bad dog. Guliver LOVES food too much.  I have taught him to sit for his food but that will have to be continually be reinforced.  He doesn't take treats nicely but I'm working with him.  He also will get into food, garbage, whatever has a scent, if you have it out or are not watching him.  Typical hound behavior. He doesn't like his crate.  He actually will get mouthy when I try to put him in it at the events.  He's absolutely wonderful out of the crate and I never need to put him in it but some people like to use them. He doesn't mouth anymore with me but it will have to be reinforced with others.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
