Description:
Makayla is house trained, has learned sit, down, and is learning stay and shake, and slowly learning to slow down her walking pace. All Makayla needs is someone who has very larg dog experience, and has the time to commit to Makayla, she is a very smart girl. If applying for Makayla you must understand she is a puppy not a dog, she just looks like a adult dog because of her size. Makayla does not have a mean bone in her body, no matter what the other dogs do, she just thinks they are playing.
Makayla was adopted but is being returned. I cannot stress enough that she is a VERY STRONG PUPPY, she is the size of a very large dog. Makayla will only go to a house with no small dogs, a very large dog only, or no dogs, and a person who is very familiar with the large breed, she needs lots of exercise and training. Makayla's adopters said she is a great puppy but too much for them to handle, she will require a large fenced yard. Please read up on the breeds before applying for Makayla, I will be testing her next potential adopters. Makayla is almost as big as a bear she is only about 8 months old and weighs about 80 pounds so she will get bigger. please make no mistake, Makayla is very strong! it takes two strong people to walk her!! she has had no training yet, Makayla is a very friendly girl who loves to greet you ' She seems fine with very large dogs . She needs to go to a home with "big dog " experience as she does not know her strenght . She needs to learn how to walk with a leash correctly and how to listen to commands . But with a little training she will be just a big mushy lap dog if you let her . She is absolutely beautiful golden eyes and a very unusal coat . It is beige but most of her has silvery overtones like a frost just a wonderful look ! Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Makayla - ADOPTED 01.07.12 (click to see larger version):
