Description:
Remember the movie ‘Herbie, the Love Bug?’ Well, the name clearly suits me well. I am a love bug. After being picked up from the kill-shelter on literally my last day, I was so frightened of everything and could barely make a move. But knowing now that there are loving homes for me to go to, I am much happier and eager to please whomever will love me. I love warm laps, chew toys, treats, giving kisses but my favorite is to go on walks. I guess you could call me a typical, sweet, loving boy. Because of my gloomy past, I am shy with most people at first and it takes me a bit to warm up. But I am getting braver and braver daily, now that I am being introduced to many people, things, and animals. I like to explore things but I have manners, and I do not get into anything that I am not supposed to. I prefer being close to my companion, following them everywhere and I definitely love sitting in a warm lap with lots of love. Despite not looking so in some of my pictures, I can I can assure you that I am every bit cute as my foster mom says. I do well in a crate but since I am so good, I don’t really have a need for it. I am mostly housebroken - despite not having asked to go outside yet; I haven’t had any accidents in the house and go to the bathroom every time I am outside. Leashes are not bad at all but I prefer to be on a harness; the collars hurt my little neck. Car rides are a cinch for me as well! Big dogs and loud noises are a bit scary to me so I would prefer to be in a home with older children and dogs that are gentle, and cats that are not aggressive. I am just a little guy, you know! Since I didn’t seem to have any commands under my belt, I am currently learning how to stay, come, outside, etc. and am doing well! Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Herbie-adopted (click to see larger version):
