Description:

Rosa and Papi, sweethearts and best friends, were cruelly put into a high kill shelter. They were only there a day when we pulled them out but just one day was enough to terrify them. Both were very underweight and their coats needed some TLC as well. They came to us very skinny and in need of a lot of love but thru all that neglect they now two happy healthy 6 lbs Chihuahuas. Papi is a black/tan/white colored male with ears up and estimated to be about 4 years old. Rosa is black w/white marking on the chest female with cute little wing ears and is estimated to be about 2 years old. These two little fur kids are playful, funny and very loveable. If foster mom is not available to cuddle on, they are often found taking a nap in the sunlight or curled up together under a throw. They are always good for a laugh by the way they play chasing and rolling around with each other. Rosa has often been found pulling Papi across the floor on a throw trying to get him to play. They are very bonded and we want to keep them together. As with a lot of small dogs, it takes time for them to warm up to strangers, but once they do they will be your best friend. They would do best with experienced Chihuahua owners and a family with older adult children only. We will not adopt these two to a home with small children. They will make the right someone great little companions! If you are interested in meeting these two great little fur kids, please fill out an adoption application.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.
