Description:
Domestic long hair cat about 1.5 years old
Luna is a very affectionate cat. She has so much love to give and absolutely adores people so much, you would have never guessed she was found abandoned in a store parking lot. She was in pretty rough shape when she came into the rescue. She had soars and scratches all over her nose and face, a chewed up tail, and an open wound on her foot. She was so skinny you could feel every bone in her body. Now that she is being taken care of her wounds are healing and she is now putting some weight on. She is completely happy and healthy. She does have an issue with her right eye(left eye when looking at her). This eye does not dialate. We do not know if she was born this way or if it was caused by a fight she may have encountered surviving on her own. It does not affect her in anyway, she can still see out of it and there is no medical vetting to be done. For a cat that may have had a rough start with life, you would never be able to tell. She adores human contact, whether it be from little kids to adults, as long as there is a hand petting her she is happy. She will come to you when her food and water dish is empty and will prance around your feet until you follow her right to the dish to fill it up. She will curl up in your lap and purr for hours. She is good with other cats but is a bit shy around dogs. She runs and hides from the foster dogs she lives with, but is slowly starting to come around them. A home without dogs would be best, but if you have a home with dogs please have lots of patience with her to eventually warm up to them and start coming around. Luna is a wonderful cat who needs a second chance at being shown what a loving home can be like!
***Although Luna is free to a good home and does not have an official adoption fee, vaccinating and sterilizing our rescue pets gets expensive. We do request that you provide a donation (of cash, pet supplies, or volunteer time now or in the near future) to LDDR in exchange for adopting this cat. As we are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, donations of cash or supplies are tax deductible and a receipt will be provided to you by an LDDR Representative.***
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Luna - ADOPTED 12.11.11 (click to see larger version):
