Ms. Roxy is very sweet and affectionate. loves and craves attention! She is a happy girl that will always be grateful for those humans that have been kind to her and her daughter.

 

Roxy was left behind as her family left with only two of her babies and left her, one of her pups and another pup in the hot yard to die. all were chained far apart from one another with no water of food. A kind neighbor provided comfort and care until rescue could be arranged.

 

Here is what the rescue person wrote after helping them Escape HELL:

So I met the neighbor there this afternoon and was just devastated when I pulled up. The smallest pup whose ribs you can see, who does belong to Roxy, was chained under the kids play set on the far left. Her only shelter was that plastic slide but her tiny chain wasn't long enough for her to get far enough under it for any real shelter. The larger pup, male, was chained under that wooden gazebo with half the roof missing so there was no real shelter there aside from shade from the sun from the large tree above. Roxy was hooked to a cable run and was only recently given the dog house after animal control went out and threatened them. Same animal control that was called when the dogs were abandoned there and could only say "well, what do you want me to do?" so I'm surprised they made them put a dog house out there at all. The 3 of them were tied out of reach from one another. Roxy and her pup had the most distance between them and it looks like she has only recently dried up The neighbor says she believes her to be only about a year & a half old and has produced 3 litters that she knows of. She said she is good with kids, as the neighborhood kids would go play with her in the yard and she was always great.

The brother to one of the dog owners was there. The "owner" gave him half a ziploc bag of dog food, instructed him to feed only Roxy, and said they wouldn't be back for the dogs. Roxy's baby is absolutely precious with her one blue eye & one brown eye :)

All 3 of them were as sweet as could be. Roxy's pup was frail, obviously starving, and tangled in the chain. She was covered in dirt and feces and had a sad demeanor but perked right up when I picked her up and she couldn't stop herself from giving me a thousand grateful kisses. The male pup was also extremely sweet and equally dirty. He was wiggling all over the place in my arms when I picked him up and was just so thrilled to have some attention.

Roxy is just a doll baby. She practically jumped into my arms when I approached her like she knew I was there to save her. She wasn't even cautious or shy and not a hint of aggression, she just wanted LOVE. When I first unhooked her from the run and put the leash on her, she still had no idea that she could move past her little area and stopped where the cable tension has taught her to stop. It took some encouragement for her to venture past the line but once she did, she made a beeline towards my car and hopped right in like GET ME THE HECK OUT OF HERE NOW!!!

She was all over the car when she first got in, sniffing everything and was just overly excited. But, the second I got in the driver's seat she sat down in the back and just stared out the windshield. It was a 30 minute ride to the vet and she didn't move once or make a peep. Same with the pups. No whining, no barking, no pawing at the crates. They all just enjoyed the AC and the soft blankets they were lying on instead of dirt.

I dropped them off at the vet where the 3 of them are staying together in a nice, large suite.
