Description:
UPDATE Bambi got her cast off on 7/8/11. The vet said there may always be a bump on her leg because the bones were not completely lined up, but she is healing and not expected to have any long term problems. Since her cast is off, she's learning to walk on all 4's and has become so loving and playful - she is finally enjoying the life that a dog should have! She has worked on her potty manners and with some one-on-one in a furever home, she should have no problem in completely mastering this skill. She's eager to learn and experience more of this wonderful world outside of that awful pet store, and she will be greatly missed by her foster mom when she finds her new home.
s is Bambi. She is new to LDDR. This poor girl spent the first year of her life in a cage at Pollywood Pet Store. A sweet young man with wonderful intentions purchased her for his mom on Mother's Day. Mom wasn't really planning on getting a dog, and things were complicated even further when the poor girl's leg was accidentally broken! The time and financial commitment was more then the family could handle, so they contacted us to see if we could help. Bambi is safe now with LDDR, where she will get the vetting needed to fix her leg and spend some time learning good doggy manners. She is so happy to be able to spend time with people and other dogs, and she loves that there is a basket of dog toys that she can freely choose from! Because of her pet store background, she is confused about proper potty habits, but we are working on that with her. With a little time and healing, she is going to be a joyful little family member! We have several dogs in the rescue right now with orthopedic issues. Please consider donating to help us with the vetting expenses and watch for some fundraisers specifically for our broken leg babies! Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Bambi-ADOPTED-8.27.11 (click to see larger version):
