Description:
While technically my name is Luther, everyone I know calls me Lou. I’m a big loveable guy who is about 4 years old. I’m happy just being involved, and I live to please my owner. After living on my own for a while, I spent the last two years as part of a loving family. Unfortunately my owners were recently forced to move to a home that didn’t allow dogs. While this made everyone sad (including me), I’m currently seeking applicants for another family to join. Here is my resume:
House manners – I’m housebroken and don’t chew, eat the garbage or counter surf. I behave all day unsupervised in the house while my fos ter is at work (I’m not fond of being locked up or in a crate ) . Commands – I behave pretty well on a leash and I know the following commands: sit, stay, come, down, leave it and shake . If you aren’t pleased with my behavior, a ll you need to do is pick up a spray bottle to get my undivided attention and cooperation. Compati bility – I’m friendly with people who properly introduce themselves , but am probably not suitable for small children. I get alo ng with most dogs and I think I could even tolerate a cat if I had to. I’ll sound a warning bark if strangers are near, but will be quiet once you tell me that the coast is clear. Likes – Walking, car rides, patrolling my fenced back yard, playing with my foster buddy Skye and pretty much every person I meet. I like being close to my master at all times. Dislikes – Loud noises like fireworks or thunder , aggressive dogs and occasionally moving vehicles/bikes (I’m not sure why). I normally seek console from my master when I get a little frightened. In a nutshell , I’m a great family dog who just needs a family. Enough about me though ......send in your application and tell me more about you!!! Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
