Description:

Hi, I'm Giles, Jake Giles, and I really must tell you how adorable I am. I'm a 6-8 year old, still active yet not hyper, 45 pound, very charming, intelligent basset/beagle mix, who knows some basic commands and house training. I have a basset body, with long soft ears (the softest my foster mom has ever felt) and big brown eyes. If my personality doesn't melt your heart, my eyes will to the trick. My muzzle is a tiny bit gray, but hey, it adds charm, right George Clooney? When you rub my belly while I'm falling asleep, I actually do a little doggie purrrr. Oh man! Rubbing my belly is just the best! In fact, when I meet you, I just may roll over right there on the spot. I'm a cuddler and a lover. I'd really like to be be your snuggle buddy.

I love people. And cats! And dogs! and especially babies! Everyone who knows me calls me Mr. Nosy, because I really love to meet, well, EVERYBODY! I don't require much excersize, but I do love to go exploring with my people, I mean, I am Mr. Adventure! And I will talk to you about it cuz I just can't contain myself! I should be a Wal-Mart greeter or something. Such a bummer they don't hire dogs, don't you think? I love walking up to new folks and seeing what they're up to, and of course, seeing if they will pet me. I would be perfect around kids and people who just need to smile. I love my foster moms toddler, she's my best friend!

I have some flaws (don't we all). I have separation anxiety. I mean, I worry about you when you're gone. So I should really be with someone who wants a buddy to tag with them, you know, hang out. I'm great to take to work or I can run the front counter of your store! I'm pretty easy going about everything, especially if you're there with me. I love walks, too. My Sherlock Holmes nose can take us any where you need to go!

The other is that I really love food.. I mean really LOVE it! I know not to eat out of the garbage or steal it off of the table, but I might fight over my food if someone tries to eat my portion, or they leave theirs unguarded. My fosters find it's best to just keep their dog and I in different rooms while we eat and put the food up when we're done. Please don't mistake me as aggressive because of this! I am a huge lovebug and would never attack for no reason, I'll even let your children jump all over me and get in my face and hug me. I just don't like to share food.

I realize there is a lot of competition out there for your heart, but won't you apply for me, Jake Giles? I'm looking for a family - one that when they say, "I do", they mean forever and ever! I promise to love you back -- I can give you the Giles Guarantee on that! P.S. In case you forgot about how adorable I am, check out my pictures. That Clooney guy has nothin' on me!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption.  AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification.  The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted.  If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip.  Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times.  Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
