Description:

Litze is a wondeful adult german short haired pointer. She has a great and loving personality.  This is a dog that you will not have to work for hours with to teach her things as she is adoption ready. She will make someone a loving companion.  The very 1st nite she was in my home for foster care she slept all nite on a dog bed (altho she is crate trained it is not necessary) & pottied outside absolutely an 'Angel'.  What a treasure can you believe she was in an overcrowed shelter & was not even going to be put up for adoption because of her 'age' & the shelter - w/ over 75 dogs did not have the resources to get her vetted etc... but a nice shelter staff sent out an SOS for some rescue help & even tho we are beyond full (like most rescues) we took her in because she is precious & is barley 'middle aged' as far as GSP's are concerned.  Come & meet her you will not be disappointed!!!  Please think twice before breeding or buying dogs and puppies. There are wonderful homeless dogs in rescues and shelters that make wonderful pets.- Litze is a perfect example that even pure bred, house trained dogs w/ great manners are put to sleep for no reason.

Litze she is a great dog, house trained gets along w/ everyone & everything but she is an 'older' dog we have her at 7yrs, her teeth are really clean (like a 5yr old or less) but I assume they may have been cleaned at some point, her eyes are a little cloudy (does not affect her vision) she may be older than 7??? acts like she is 6ish tho :), & is healthy but she does lick her legs & tops of her feet, we have ruled out medical conditions like arthritis & allergies, I thought maybe it is was stress from the shelter or being homeless but she has not seemed to decrease at all even tho she seems very happy in foster care, it could be habit or obsessive compulsive...??? we have not tried any anti anxiety meds... I have the hair all grown back but do keep wraps or booties on her to keep her from licking, she does not disturb them or try to chew them at all & seems content.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
