Description:
Sasha joined LDDR in September 2010! UPDATE 3/5/11 Sasha is now in a foster home receiving the love and attention she deserves! She is currently 34 lbs on the petite size but don't let that fool you she is one strong girl! She has adjusted wonderfully to her new foster home and has settled into a routine and loves to cuddle with everyone. She craves love and attention and will follow you around the house just to be near you, but not to the point that it is annoying. She absolutely loves children and cuddles with my 6 & 7 year old boys all the time. She also gets along well with cats and dogs, however, she does seem to want to be the doggie boss. Sasha is completely housebroken and has not had an accident in our house. She is crate trained at night (she will whine a little on the first night for a couple minutes and you will not hear a peep out of her again) and left out during the day when I leave, with no chewing or potty issues. She is a good watch dog and barks to alert you when someone is at or near the house. She is still young so she has a lot of energy and would do best with a fenced yard. She has a high prey drive outside, so I would not recommend having her off leash in an open area until more training is done. This sweet little girl will be the perfect addition to a family. 1/5/11 Sasha is now at the Troy Camp Bow Wow and she loves it!! Everybody loves her there, she gets a long great with everyone. She plays well with the other dogs and they tell us how sweet of a girl she is. We have attached 2 videos of her playing at her new temporary home, until she can find her forever home! 11/20/2010: Sasha is a great dog! She gets along great with kids, cats, birds, and other dogs but she will definitely stake out her pack order and show the other pets that she's boss. Once she does this once, she is fine. They play very nicely together now! We are working on her manners. She likes to jump up on you, so we are trying to teach her the words "NO" and "Down" and gently put her back on the floor. She is a fast learner and has picked up on this. She is very playful, curious and cuddly. She is crate trained and housebroken. We make an effort to take her out before we go to bed. She usually has free reign of the house when we sleep. She is most comfy on your bed or at least near you. She is a great leash walker. She is learning to "heel" on her walks, so you walk her and she doesn't walk you! She loves to play with her toys for the most part, no issues with sharing food or toys. Sasha will be a great dog for any family with kids who only have one dog or with a family with other dogs/animals once she sets her boundaries. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Videos of Sasha-ADOPTED 03.11.11: Other Pictures of Sasha-ADOPTED 03.11.11 (click to see larger version):
