Jersey is a lucky little girl; she was saved at the last moment. Really her time was more than up, but some nice shelter ladies kept her with her pups until the rescue transport came for her and her little darlings. Her puppies, Thunder Clap and Lightning saved mama's life by nursing way past the need to do so. That bought her time. Jersey is a miniature version of a chocolate lab. Her picture is deceiving as she really is a small dog. She only weighs around 30 lbs. She has had a hard life. Sure wish she could tell us her story! She came to us with her tail between her legs and shaking. So sad! After a few days Jersey discovered the wonders of a HOME. She LOVES the couch. Blending in with the brown leather, she doesn't mind too much when she gets sat on. She isn't too fond of puppies but does great with other dogs (most want to dominate her and she is fine with that. She is the most submissive dog!) She lets cats rub on her. She has really come out of her shell more than expected in such a short time. We have seen her a few times playing with the other dogs and even wagging her tail when we greet her in the mornings. She just needs someone to love and to love her in return. The perfect pet for someone that wants a quiet, little companion. Winning her trust would be heartwarming to anyone that values rescue dogs and the lives they lead. She will bring a world of love into most anyone's life. I would not recommend her for a family with children. She doesn't seem to mind them but I think she would be more relaxed in a calmer environment. She is easy to meet at her Northville foster home. Please consider making this little lost soul yours to love. . Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting.
