Update 5/13/10
Jody has had a lot of interest in her and we would like to clarify a few things about lovely Jody. She is still young and has a lot of energy she would like to go to a home where she can run, in a FENCED yard. She is not a bolter, but if given the chance she will wander and investigate. Everyone will be happy and at ease if she has a fenced yard to play in! She is also on the shy side initially. Please give her a chance to warm up to you, you won't regret it! She will love to give you all her love and loyalty if you would just give her a little time and patience to warm up to you. Her personality will show once she is comfortable and once that happens it is hard to pass her up!!

Update 3/31/10
Jody LOVES people! She will constantly stay by you and would love to sleep with you in your bed as well, if you let her! She is now 30 lbs. and will be spayed on 4/1/10. Unlike her breed she is not aggressive towards squirrels and doesn't show any instincts of being a hunter. We are wondering if maybe that was why she was thrown aside, she did not cut it as a hunting dog and they got rid of her. She has never bayed, and only barked once in the presence of her foster parents. She is extremely loyal and would probably get to be very protective of her family. She does fine with her other doggy house mates, shows no interest in cats and does well with children. She was a little leary of loud noises at first, including the washing machine but is now getting used to the normal sounds of a home. She will always come when called and she is working on "sit" and "stay". She is house and crate trained, good on a leash and fine in the car. She gets shy at times when she is out and around a lot of people but she is very social at her home.

2/1/2010: Jody is only about 27 pounds so she is small and much prettier in person.  Jody is about a year old. She is black & white w/ brindle legs, some white on her feet, docked tail, medium coat, super cute, friendly & submissive with her other foster friends. She was quiet throughout the night, and didn't have any accidents in her crate. She did well on a leash and also in the car!!

Check out footage of Jody on our interview with the Social Philanthropists Foundation (SPF). Her appearance starts at 8:07 if you want to fast forward http://www.the-spf.org/thedish/page.html

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
