Betsy is now able to start looking for her forever home, she still requires daily rehab but it is easily done at home. She will need someone with her more hours of the day than not.

Say hello to our precious little Betsy.   Betsy is one of our special feature pups this month.   Aside from being an adorable little girl, she came to us as a sick little pup and had to undergo some costly medical procedures.  She is currently home with her foster parents recovering from femoral head and neck osteotomy surgery.   Though she is doing well and already putting weight on her leg, she already has 9 staples in her little leg and will be forced to undergo at least 6 weeks of rehab.   She has been such a brave girl through it all, and in the doctors own words, Betsy is a very sweet and loving puppy.   Everybody she meets absolutely loves her!

Betsy is currently “on hold” as she recovers, but we’ve had a lot of interest in her from people and want to keep everybody in the loop.   To be clear, she won’t be ready to adopt out for a few months, but we felt we must keep her profile up because this adorable little pup is a prime example of how Last Day Dog Rescue thrives on the efforts and donations of our volunteers and supporters.   LDDR is driven by volunteers who all have jobs, families, and other important obligations, but without the hard work, efforts, and DONATIONS we receive from such great people to help with the many expenses associated with rescuing these precious animals, puppies like Betsy would probably not make it.   If you cannot contribute any time, please donate to our cause.   Donate to help save Betsy!

This is Betsy, and she is 29lbs! We don't know much about her except, a very nice person took her to the vet after she was abandoned for 2 weeks. She couldn't afford to vet her completely and that is where we stepped in! She is underweight and will need to go to the vet for a possible broken leg. She is a big love bug, she makes little snorting sounds, loves her blanket, other dogs, and she has not had an accident in the house! We are giving her much needed love and care and she will get better in no time!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
