Description:
Neapolitan, aka Neo, began her experience at Last Day Dog Rescue fearful and in a lot of pain. She was found on the Fourth of July with three legs and an open wound where her fourth should have been. We took her in and to the vet as soon as possible, where she had surgery to clean up the wound. Now, only a few weeks later, she is beginning to show her true personality. She is extremely sweet and affectionate and loves to be close to people. She is still getting used to having only three legs, but she doesn’t let that slow her down, running and jumping with an abundance of puppy energy. Whenever her foster gets up to go anywhere, even just a few feet, she will jump up and run after her, not wanting to be too far away. With this newfound energy, she is just learning her manners but is a fast learner and has already figured out that she gets more attention when she sits and waits than when she is jumping. She is still working on not using people as a teething toy, but is easily redirected away from other household items with a toy. She is mostly potty trained and knows that when she is let outside she is supposed to go potty, but hasn’t quite learned how to indicate when she needs to go out. She is good with other dogs and cats and would do well in a home with another pet or as a solo dog. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.
