Description:
Loblolly is an Australian Shepherd who has a Rottweiler face and short coat. She is almost the same as her sister Magnolia, but with different features on her face and slightly smaller. Born around July 27th the littlest one of the group but in no way the runt! The first thing she did when she set foot in her foster home after several car rides and long vet visit was to hop… yes, hop from side to side. She seemed to demonstrate pure joy! Yeah! We are safe! Yeah! We are safe! She has great character. Her Brothers are Birch and Quince. Her sisters are Mimosa and Magnolia. To look at them all you would have no clue as they don’t look anything alike! Hard to tell what size she will be at this age but we suspect they will grow to be 40-50bs. There were rescues from a shelter up north the day before being sold for research. She is up to date with his shots, and knows to go to potty outside. Her adoption fee is 250.00 with a 50.00 sterilization deposit TEMPERAMENT :The Australian Shepherd is an intelligent, medium-sized dog of strong herding and guardian instincts. He is also a delightful and loyal companion and a great family dog. He loves to be part of the daily hustle and bustle, and enjoys riding in the vehicle just to be with his beloved master. He is easy to train, easy to house break, and eager to please. The Aussie (as he is lovingly nicknamed) is a very active dog that needs a great deal of exercise on a daily basis to prevent him from become bored or frustrated and developing destructive habits. Because of their high energy level, combined with high intelligence, Aussies need to be given a "job" to perform, be it shepherding the children, protecting the house or competing in dog events. One of the most frequent reasons Aussies are turned over to rescue groups is because their owners didn't realize how much energy the breed has, and weren't willing to channel that energy through training. Aussies want to be constantly with them, following them from room to room in the house, and going along in the car or truck on errands. They can be highly territorial and protective of their masters' possessions, which can cause difficulties unless controlled with proper training Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Loblolly - ADOPTED 09.28.09 (click to see larger version):
