Description:
MEET OLIVER!
We have learned alot about this wonderful boy since being in foster care! When Oliver first went to his foster home he was jumpy and liked to get near your face when he did this, not to hurt but a form of getting attention and because no one taught him differently. He is now understanding and learning this is not acceptable and has come along way! With patience and understanding he is learning to wait for acknowledge that it is ok to get on your lap..but he will forget sometimes yet too! He enjoys being close and a lap dog if you let him! Oliver is just a very lovable dog that wants to be around people and will follow you around the house a lot but is also learning to entertain himself with his toys and that he doesn't need to be near to know he is safe and secure. He rides well in the car but prefers the car engine be shut off to get in. Oliver has been taking morning and/or evening walks, which he loves. He walks really well on a lead. He may have to be reminded now and again about his leash manners but a little tug fixes that! He loves running and playing in the yard and playing in his little wading pool. Because Oliver
is very active, he needs a fenced yard to burn off the energy he has. Olivers coat is beginning to grow back from his early summer shave and is coming in with a nice curl and he sure is cute! He does not mind being brushed so he stays the handsome lad he is. Oliver is still working on the excitement level he has when his foster mom comes home or when greeting guest. Oliver does well however if placed in a crate for a short time when you are having company enter the home. He is being worked with on this and will likely need continued work in his new home til he learns the rules there. He just wants to be hugged and kissed so he can't sit still! He did try to do some counter surfing, but was caught in the act and corrected, so he may need this continued in his new home as well. Oliver does well in crate and we are not sure how he would do left free roam in the home while you are working but he should be kept with toys and chew things to keep him busy. Oliver really enjoys the bonding experience with his person and we are sure his forever person will enjoy this too! His foster mom says they play hard...work hard...and
enjoy relaxing together! Oliver is a loveable and
sweet lad and is looking for his forever home and family to want to take him home and give him the love and security he so much deserves. Oliver would do very well with obedience classes too! Oliver bonds very closely and protectively over his person. An experienced handler/dog person is required for Oliver.

*DISCLAIMER:
We at Last Day Dog Rescue cannot and do not guarantee breed or age of its dogs/puppies listed with us for adoption. We depend on opinions from shelter staff and veterinarians among others to provide us with their best assessments regarding both breed and approximate age to the best of their ability.
*PLEASE NOTE:
We rescue our dogs from shelters and pounds. Most often we do not have background or history information on them. In the event any information is given to us, we will include that in the dogs profile.
*YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD TO APPLY FOR AN ADOPTION. *WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT OF STATE. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Olive urgent need (click to see larger version):
