Description: MEET JACKSON! JACKSON NOW NEEDS A FOSTER FAMILY PLEASE HELP HIM! Hi! My name is Jackson! I was saved from a gassing shelter on my very last day along with my best friend, Micah. I am 3 years old and weigh 50 pounds. I am a very gentle and loyal guy, and get along well with people and pets. My foster family has dogs, cats, and teenagers in the home, and I'm becoming good friends with all of them! I even let the kittens share my food bowl. I really like attention, but can be easily entertained by squeaky toys and rawhide bones as well! When I first came to my foster home, I had not had much training or socialization, and I was very confused by things like stairs and cars. Now I am housebroken and crate trained. I am gradually learning to walk on a leash, but need to work on commands. My future owner should be someone who has time to help me learn. I am very eager to please, but I am unsure of how to do so. I am a very gentle and laidback dog; I have never nipped, and I love to cuddle. If I weren't so big, I would be the perfect lap dog, as I enjoy sitting next to my people and getting petted. I am happy no matter what, and I like being around people SO much, that I sometimes get excited and want to jump up and give you a hug. I am best in a home without small children, as I might accidentally knock them over. I am a very playful guy who would LOVE a big fenced in yard. Please help me find my forever home! Update 9/29: Jackson is a zen doggy. He really just wants to lay at your feet, chewing on his bone, and knowing that his people are there. He is truly the epitome of the loyal dog. While he is very active, he looks at you with these grateful knowing eyes. I just know that Jackson will make a wonderful pet! A special Thank you to Dan Garrison and family for sponsering Jackson's care while with Last Day Dog Rescue. Jackson is now in his forever home. ADOPTION FEE IS $195.00 A Note from Last Day Dog Rescue: This wonderful dog is just one of many in our care right now. Your sponsorship will help us provide shelter, food, vetting and tender loving care for our dogs until they find new loving homes. Adoption fees do not cover our expenses, so your sponsorship will make a positive impact on our organization and especially on our dogs well being. We are not a chapter or affiliate of any national animal organization. We are, moreover, very grateful for your generosity. Please click to sponsor this great dog! Thank you! *DISCLAIMER: We at Last Day Dog Rescue cannot and do not guarantee breed or age of its dogs/puppies listed with us for adoption. We depend on opinions from shelter staff and veterinarians among others to provide us with their best assessments regarding both breed and approximate age to the best of their ability. *PLEASE NOTE: We rescue our dogs from shelters and pounds. Most often we do not have background or history information on them. In the event any information is given to us, we will include that in the dogs profile.
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Jackson (click to see larger version):
