Description: Meet Guernsey! The prettiest hound girl you've ever seen! She is about 1.5 years old and 40lbs. Guernsey loves to sleep on beds, sofas, and your favorite blanket. She is a very cuddly dog and would prefer a home where she can sleep right next to her owner or on the best chair in the house. She tends to steal food off of the table or out of the garbage, but is responding very well to water in a spray bottle training. She is a bit scared of loud noises and sometimes needs reassurance from her human that the world is safe for her. She does not bark a lot, but does bark for a few minutes when she is left alone. A regular routine has helped her immensely with this. She does not like being left alone, but she has not had to be crated since her first weeks in foster. A crate is recommended for Guernsey, but this is only needed for longer work days. She loves bones, so crate time would be a great place for this. Guernsey pulls hard on a leash, but she is very eager to please and needs practice just like all young dogs. She would do best in a multiple dog household, as she is very playful, but active owners would be a fine substitute, as well. She truly enjoys sticking her cold nose into everyone's business, so another dog to keep her entertained is highly preferable for this loving girl. She will let children climb all over her and just has the biggest heart of gold. Besides, she is absolutely adorable! Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.
