Description:
MEET BENSON!
Benson is a 4 year old purebred Golden Retriever and has lighter blonde coloring. He will be available soon for adoption. Benson, Sarah and Jody came to us together. All are crate trained and quiet. All 3 are sweet and loving however, all 3 have insecurites and Jody is most insecure. All 3 like to crate and sleep together and are very bonded. Benson needs to lose about 40 pounds. Sarah needs to lose about 20 pounds. Jody will have to be adopted out likely with Sarah, she is too timid and lost without one of them being by her side. All dogs altho very nice, do need some socialization and obedience training. Benson is not completely housebroken and will require continued work on this. Jody requires a fenced yard as she is likely to run if given the chance and won't return on command. She is timid and relies on the others for guidance and isn't going to easily bond with people. All 3 are so tightly bonded that they are not wanting to bond to other dogs either, altho they are all good around other dogs and dont' seem to mind cats either. All 3 we feel would be best placed in a home without children and with very experienced pet owners. Benson may be possibly adopted without the others but will need a home with another dog for company. Sarah seems to be the most trusting of the 3. They are shy but do have some of the outgoing attributes of the golden breed.

*DISCLAIMER: We at Last Day Dog Rescue cannot and do not guarantee breed or age of its dogs/puppies listed with us for adoption. We depend on opinions from shelter staff and veterinarians among others to provide us with their best assessments regarding both breed and approximate age to the best of their ability.
*YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD TO APPLY FOR AN ADOPTION. *WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT OF STATE. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Benson-ADOPTED-6.9.09 (click to see larger version):
