Description:
Baby was born on 8/27/1995 making her a gorgeous senior girl of almost 13 years old! Her parents, Sire and Dam, were AKC registered. We are looking for a special home for Baby where she can be queen of her home and be treated like a queen in her senior years! She is quite a doggie-diva! She should go to a home with no small children altho she is good with kids we know kids can be a little rough sometimes with dogs and Baby really doesn't want that anymore! She would do well with another older calm dog in the home to keep her company. It's getting more difficult for Baby to get around on stairs and steps, so a home without these obstacles would be best for her. She would most appreciate a new person that wouldn't mind her presence in the room especially when it thunderstorms, she's like a kid when that happens, but if she is in the room by your bedside, she stops crying and knows she is safe. Baby is not on any medications and doesn't require any at this time. She's not really a 'get in the bed' or 'on furniture' kinda girl but would not mind if you allowed her to be! She is housebroken and isn't having accidents in the house. She's a very quiet girl but may bark when someone knocks at the door and will do that even if she is lying down! Baby likes to keep a ball by her side, sleeps with it sometimes in her mouth like someone is going to take it so she keeps it safe with her. She thinks she is still youthful and will be eager to chase a ball but when she gets to it, she will sit down with it in her mouth and rest that way. She loves to be petted on her head and will place her head on your resting hand. She can sit around the house very content all day. When it is time to eat, after you fill bowl, she waits for your permission “okay”. Also waits for you permission to go up steps, “okay”, but we hope to find her a home where she won't have to worry about that! This is one special girl who deserves nothing less than that to live out the rest of her years happy, loved and filled with contentment. If you can give that to her, please contact us!
*DISCLAIMER: We at Last Day Dog Rescue cannot and do not guarantee breed or age of its dogs/puppies listed with us for adoption. We depend on opinions from shelter staff and veterinarians among others to provide us with their best assessments regarding both breed and approximate age to the best of their ability.
*YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD TO APPLY FOR AN ADOPTION. *WE DO NOT ADOPT OUT OF STATE. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Baby-ADOPTED-6.9.09 (click to see larger version):
