Kennel Liaison / Dog Walker
Would you be willing to provide help at the kennels we work with?
This would involve...
taking dogs on walks to practice their leash walking skills.
transporting the dogs to the veterinarian's office.
bringing the dogs to adoption events.
taking photos of the dogs.
spending time with the dogs to learn traits about them that we can list on their web page.
meeting potential adopters at the kennel to do the paperwork to finalize adoptions.
Freedom Ride / Transport
Nothing beats the feeling of witnessing the look on a dogs face when he realizes he's on his way to a better life. Be part of that experience by joining the Transport Team.
Transport for dogs from Toledo at 5:30pm to Farmington Hills at 8:00pm on Thursday nights each week. Even if you can only do a trip a month, the transport team can use you!
Transport a dog from an animal shelter, to a veterinarian office or kennel, or to a foster home.
Transport a dog to/from adoption events and special events.
Events
Last Day Dog Rescue events are a fun way to get to know the other volunteers and dogs in your area! After you join LDDR you can RSVP to events you can attend. This is perfect for LDDR fosters and volunteers who want to know about upcoming adoption events they can bring their foster dogs to or help by transporting a dog. Our volunteers handle dogs at the events, sharing their attributes with potential adopters. What better way to get a doggie fix? All it takes is a few hours on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
