Description:
This little firecracker is Michonne. She is a pug mix of some sort,. Michonne had a tough start, she ended up in a shelter when she was still a puppy and was there for months.

Michonne’s doing well on her training. She knows sit, and is learning stay, down, heel, and a few other things, as well as sitting for her food until I tell her it’s “OK”. She is crate trained, and needs to be crated when alone because she will find ways to occupy herself when bored.

Michonne is a sweet, loving dog once she learns to trust you. When she decides to love someone, she loves them completely. She needs to be introduced slowly to new people. It works best when I have them meet, while they give her treats, sit down, and give her more treats. She then understands that they are allowed inside and she will slowly relax around them

I thought that she could only be around submissive dogs, even though she isn’t very dominant herself. At first, she would have little tiffs with my more dominant dog. He would growl at her to warn her to back off, and she would not back down. Once she became used to him, she learned his rules and boundaries and now they get along fine. My other dog is more submissive and they wrestle and play, and chase each other around the backyard like lunatics. They have so much fun together and she just loves him.

She does fine around teenagers, once she gets used to them.  I haven't had her around small children or cats. She does not do well with big dogs. S he should be in a home with a fenced in yard.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The  petfinder.com  system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
